Summary of Essay
For centuries humans have been interested in the notion of ‘geniuses.’ Defining the term is elusive because if one asks 100 people what a genius is, or more aptly, who they consider to be a genius, 100 slightly different answers will likely follow...That is, he was able to achieve a high level of playing and composing before he reached an age when the typical biological development of a child would even allow that as a possibility. Therefore, one knows almost certainly that Mozart was a ‘true genius’ in the sense of having certain abilities that essentially go against the laws of nature. In comical terms; Mozart was an apple that fell up towards the sky instead of down to earth... some readers might realize that ‘genius’s’ and ‘child prodigies’ may not be all that different from you or I in many regards. Or perhaps we have the insight that in a roundabout way we are all geniuses if there is something we do very well that has deep meaning for another person, even if it seems insignificant.
